What is sugar waxing?
Sugar waxing, also called sugaring, removes hair with a paste made of sugar, lemon, and water. Unlike traditional waxing, the paste is applied warm, never hot, and hair is removed in the direction of growth. Most people find it gentler, with less irritation and fewer ingrown hairs.
Does sugaring hurt less than waxing?
For most people, yes. The paste sticks to hair, not live skin, and comes off in the direction hair grows, so there is far less pulling than with resin wax. Your first visit is the most sensitive, and it gets easier as regrowth comes in finer.
How long does sugar waxing last?
Most clients stay smooth for three to six weeks. Keeping a regular rhythm of four to five weeks between visits helps hair grow back finer and sparser over time.
How do I prep for a Brazilian or body sugaring appointment?
Grow hair to about a quarter inch, roughly two weeks of growth, gently exfoliate the day before, and skip lotions or oils on the day of your appointment. We take care of everything else.
Do you offer sugaring training for estheticians?
